WELCOME TO SEFC!

SEFC is a Bible-centered church serving the community of Stillwater and surrounding area. We invite you to join us in the joy of worshiping God each Sunday as he speaks to us through his holy Word, and as we respond to him through our prayers and singing of praise.

We exist to glorify God through authentic worship and unwavering proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Saint Croix Valley. We aim to accomplish this by cultivating passionate and committed followers of Jesus who Magnify, Mature, Minister, and Multiply. This means we gather to exalt God in genuine worship, seek God in prayer, encourage one another toward spiritual maturity, and regularly engage the community in service and gospel ministry.

Stillwater Evangelical Free Church is more than a building, we are a diverse community of disciples who gather together to worship and serve a holy God. It is our desire to develop and deploy mature disciples of Jesus that are well equipped to serve and proclaim the gospel of Christ to our community and the world. Whether you are seeking a church home or are just interested in a one-time visit, it is our desire that your presence will result in a deep encounter with the Living Christ.

If you are considering attending for the first time check out our New Here page to find out more details about what to expect, or if you have questions simply email us.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Stillwater Evangelical Free Church was started by five families as a church plant from a nearby Evangelical Free church in 1984.  After meeting initially in homes, they moved to Lily Lake Elementary School.  The current church building was built in faith and anticipation of God’s continued blessing in 1991. Stillwater EFC has developed into a vital and growing congregation.

This local church is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America.  This denomination is a voluntary association of Evangelical Free churches that subscribe to a common doctrine and work together for encouragement, training, accountability, and multiplied effectiveness in ministry. The Evangelical in our name means that we believe in the inspiration, authority and guidance of God’s Word, the Bible, for our lives and ministry, and that we are committed to the proclamation of the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ.  Free means that we have a congregational form of church government through which each congregation governs its own local ministry.
